Treasury and Investments | MWRD
The mission of the Treasury department is to provide high quality management of the MWRD's financial resources by maximizing income on investments; issuing bonds to finance capital needs; cost-effectively meeting operating cash requirements, utilizing appropriate technology and efficient banking practices; and maintaining MWRD’s outstanding bond ratings. The Treasury Section focuses on three major areas: Cash and Investments, Debt, and Other Post Employment Benefits (“OPEB”) Trust.

Real Estate | MWRD
The MWRD owns property along the Chicago Area Waterway System throughout the region. We lease property not currently needed for our corporate purposes for commercial and industrial use and for parks and green space.
La Grange Park | MWRD
With support from the MWRD the village of La Grange Park converted three intersections along Monroe Avenue into permeable surfaces. The project reduces the load on the sewer system and will complement plans to separate additional sewer systems to divert water to nearby Salt Creek.
UIC Green Infrastructure Project | MWRD
The MWRD’s green infrastructure project at Arthington Mall Plaza at the University of Illinois at Chicago features 37,000 square feet of permeable pavement, new seating, native plants and rain gardens.
Golf Mill Stormwater Park | MWRD
The MWRD’s Golf Mill Stormwater Park provides flood relief for 100 structures in a 200-acre area on Niles’ northwest side.
Monitoring and Research Seminar Series | MWRD
The MWRD hosts a seminar series at the Stickney Water Reclamation Plant that is open to the public.
