The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD) is committed to making mwrd.org accessible for all users, including those with disabilities.

Conformance status

The MWRD strives to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA standards. Currently, our site is partially conformant, meaning that some parts of our content may not fully conform to the accessibility standard. For example, information provided in older PDF files may not be fully accessible. We are continually measuring these gaps and working to address them.

Ongoing efforts to ensure accessible content

We routinely test content and features for WCAG 2.2 Level AA compliance. We remediate any issues to ensure we meet or exceed the standards. Testing is performed by accessibility experts using:

• Color contrast analyzers
• Keyboard-only navigation
• Screen reader tools
• Accessibility software tools and browser plug-ins
• External vendor assessments

We also keep track of the ongoing evolution of accessibility standards, and as new best practices evolve, we will work to implement those practices on this website.
