Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago

Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD) President Kari K. Steele was recently honored for her outstanding commitment and dedication to community service. 

The Certificate of Excellence was presented to President Steele during the National Baptist State Convention of Illinois’ Annual Missions Evangelism Rally held on April 12 at the JLM Center in Chicago. The event was hosted by the Mt. Vernon and United States Convention, and members from throughout the country, representing 43,000 churches, were in attendance.

“I’m truly honored to receive a service award alongside Pastor John Harrell and other faith leaders,” said President Steele. “This recognition is a meaningful reminder of the importance of service, motivating me to continue contributing to our community with even greater dedication.”

The award underscores President Steele’s unwavering commitment to serving the people of Cook County. Her leadership and dedication exemplify the values of community engagement and empowerment.

 

The National Baptist State Convention of the USA has a long history. It was formed in 1895, and the first president was elected in 1902.
