WHO: The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD) Board of Commissioners and staff and Village of Crestwood officials

WHAT: Officials will gather at 5100 131st Street, Crestwood, to celebrate the completion of numerous infrastructure upgrades to mitigate flooding for residents living in the community and to improve conditions for students and teachers at Nathan Hale schools.

The MWRD and partners at the Village of Crestwood will cut the ribbon on the Crestwood Flood Control Project that will provide flood relief for approximately 82 homes, businesses and structures in the vicinity of 135th Street and Central Avenue.

The MWRD installed a storm sewer and modified an existing detention basin to improve water conveyance along the Crestwood Drainage Ditch to its outlet at the Cal-Sag Channel to protect the community from flooding and enhance local water quality.
