WHO: The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD) 

WHAT: The MWRD will raise Pride flag at its downtown office and at all seven water reclamation plants, followed by a noon program 

WHEN: Monday, June 1 at 11:30 a.m.

WHERE: Barbara J. McGowan Main Office Building, 100 E. Erie Street, Chicago, IL

The MWRD will raise the Pride flag and host a lunch event on Monday, June 1, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Barbara J. McGowan Main Office Building (MOB). The flag will also be raised at all seven water reclamation plants.

This year’s theme is “Water Connects Us, Pride Unites Us.” After we raise the Pride flag, a lunch program will feature a keynote address from former FEMA Emergency Management Specialist Mary DeBacker highlighting the role of resilience and unity followed by a panel of two local LGBTQ elected officials, including Chicago Alderwoman Maria Hadden and Cook County Commissioner Maggie Trevor, discussing the importance of inclusion and community partnership.
