The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD) will celebrate African American History Month throughout February to highlight our commitment to diversity, to support the Black community and to honor the achievements of African Americans in the fields of health and wellness.

The month will kick off with the third annual raising of the Pan-African Flag at the Main Office Building, 100 E. Erie Street on Tuesday, Feb. 1 at 10 a.m. For the first time, all seven MWRD water reclamation plants will also raise the flag.
