WHO: Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD) Board of Commissioners and Urban Rivers.

WHAT: An evening to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month on the North Branch of the Chicago River to educate kayakers about water quality improvements.

WHERE: Kayak Chicago (Goose Island), 1220 W. LeMoyne St., Chicago, IL.

WHEN: Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 5 pm to 6:30 pm. Participants are encouraged to arrive at 4:45 pm to sign release forms and receive safety instructions.

Join MWRD Commissioner Marcelino Garcia and Urban Rivers to kayak the Chicago River and learn about water stewardship and the work of Urban Rivers, the MWRD and the Wild Mile Chicago project to improve the local water environment. To commemorate National Hispanic Heritage Month, the event encourages LatinX students to step out of the classroom, learn about STEM opportunities and interact with water quality experts.
