You are invited to a ribbon cutting event for the permeable paver commuter parking lot at the Lake Katherine Nature Center and Botanic Gardens 7402 Lake Katherine Dr., Palos Heights, on March 25 at noon.
The MWRD contributed $184,000 towards the $1.13 million project that included the installation of the permeable pavers and bioswales at the Nature Center. The project is designed to capture 120,000 gallons of stormwater each time it rains, helping to mitigate flooding in the area and demonstrating the benefits of green infrastructure to neighbors and visitors.
