For decades, the conversation around climate change has focused on mitigation. By attempting to limit carbon emissions and other human practices contributing to environmental change, you can limit the effects.

The proposed project could cover nearly one-square-mile area along Deer Creek and Third Creek within the Little Calumet River Watershed near Glenwood and Ford Heights, where stormwater storage can help mitigate increasing flooding concerns.

This 20-month study will assess the potential for the MWRD and the Forest Preserves to coordinate and share costs for the planning, design, construction and maintenance of a Deer Creek-Third Creek Reservoir.
