MWRD, partners to support Stewardship Day at Possum Hollow Woods for Latinx Heritage Month Latinx Heritage Month flyer


On Saturday, October 16 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the MWRD will co-sponsor Latinx Heritage Month Stewardship Day in support of students, communities and the environment at Possum Hollow Woods in partnership with the Forest Preserves of Cook County (FPCC).

Raquel Garcia-Alvarez of FPCC and Xochitl Lopez will lead the event in both English and Spanish. The day will start with learning about the site, and activities will consist of seed collecting, a guided hike, plant identification, and poetry reading.


Participants must wear a face covering. All tools will be provided. Pre-registration is required. Click here to register.
