8th Annual Sustainability Summit

This year's event will be held virtually using Microsoft Teams. To register, please visit https://mwrd.org/form/sustainability-summit-2020-rsvp. This free event is open to the public. The Summit assembles elected officials, public administrators and municipal public works managers with landscapers, stormwater engineers, land managers and master gardeners to provide a forum for exchanging resources and information designed to promote green infrastructure management and resource recovery.

The Sustainability Summit also addresses the many environmental measures the MWRD is taking to mitigate flooding and reuse biosolids to improve the structure and porosity of soils, which allows plants to more effectively utilize nutrients.  Special highlights this year will include the role of goats and sheep in managing our landscapes, how we are working to help save the monarch population and positive news about fish in the Chicago Area Waterway System.

A link to this event will be provided to registrants closer to the event date.
